Fink,
The shepherd book says that if the person shows repentance then they will receive what amounts to public reproof.
They will lose privileges and presumably position but they aren't automatically cast out of the org.

I agree with the principle of life being sacred and therefore the use of blood, donated from a still living person, used to save someone's life is surely a conscience issue.
Watching John Cedars on YouTube the other night dissecting the shepherd book was also interesting concerning blood transfusions.
If you receive a transfusion and are repentant, then it seems you are 'all good', you will probably just be reproved.
This raises another question; in WT land, why is accepting a blood transfusion treated differently compared to the other sins listed in the OT? If you are unrepentant, you are disassociated instead of being disfellowshipped.
well these goof balls at jwbroadcast apparently think the study of pure science means not having any "practical application".
oi vey.
sanderson may speak russian but he is so ill educated he appears to think that researching a subject and formulating a theory about it means that's the end of it - in other words he's saying it has no practical use.
The start of the video mentions Gilead graduates have spent months studying the bible in depth.
Has anyone on the forum been to Gilead or have any idea what this 'in depth' study consists of?
i need to vent again here.
because i have no one else to talk with and no one who really understands except for the people here.
my wife is the most dangerous kind of jw.
Good point Ding
here are some examples where bible writers used the #, 3!
were these stories ever true, or were they just fabrications and laziness on the writer's part where it just made sense to use the #, 3?.
12-year-old jesus stays in jerusalem, joseph, and mary find him 3 days later.
At the time of the the solstice, when the shortest day and longest night occur, ancient observers noticed that the sun's position at sunrise was pretty much the same for about a 3 day period. In the Northern hemisphere, that occurs around December 22nd.
It was as if time was standing still in a sense. The deepest sleep before life renewed again.
Echoes of this astronomical event occur in quite a few myths.
she certainly is passionate about climate change.
🤔.
Axiom, you make a good argument.
I think this girl is just a girl that is speaking her mind about something she has genuine feelings abut.
If the most powerful man in the world makes it his business to tweet about a 16 yr old girl, then maybe she is on to something.
although not a new concept by the watchtower, particularly in public talks and at assemblies, they have now put this prophecy in writing.watchtower oct 2019 page 8 -13 study no.40 titled -keep busy during the last of "the last days".
the first paragraph asks '1.
what convinces us that we are living in “the last days”?
Anyone who was a JW in1995 actually witnessed the failure of a prophecy and the eventual baffling evolution of that belief.
Many of those same people are still JW's and going stronger than ever, more convinced of their conviction and faith in the GB.
ewart chitty was appointed as secretary-treasurer , which position he held until his appointment to the governing body in november 1974.. when in brooklyn, chitty seems to have preferred younger men as roommates.
the actual charge brought to the gb against chitty was made by a former roommate and involved some sort of inappropriate conduct.
the gb concluded that chitty had homosexual tendencies, and asked him to resign.. a rare photo of chitty in happier days.
Not sure if that's a cigarette, looks like the shadow on the bottom of his jacket to me. 🤔
not having attended any meetings since about 2001, for reasons of safety (sounds a bit dramatic but i don't like my wife being out on her own late at night where we live now), i have started accompanying her to the mid-week meeting.. when i was young, the ministry school and service meeting were central to training brothers to take the lead.
you were assigned instruction talks, then if you cut it, you moved pretty rapidly to public talks - a full 55 mins at the time.
i was just 18 years old when i gave my first public talk and this was a first step to moving rapidly through the ranks.
Wow Jook - written review, I haven't heard that phrase for so long. Just reading the words written review did things to my head.

I was having a debate via text message with a pimi elder friend recently and what struck me was his complete inability to use his own brain to reason.
I know this isn't that surprising for a Jw but any question I asked was answered with a link to jw org. He wasn't willing or able to discuss anything that required him using his own critical thinking.
It became obvious that if I didn't accept without question the articles in the links he provided, that it was my problem. He wasn't interested in whether they answered my question or not and he refused to discuss it further.
So yes, I have witnessed the outcome of an 'education' program which is literally making people more stupid.
